For baking, you can make a recipe healthier by substituting out some or all of the oil with applesauce (1:1). If a recipe calls for eggs, the following substitution can also be made (1 egg):
1/4 cup applesauce
1 Tbsp ground flaxseed + 3 Tbsp water
